Do you know that proper planning on the academic side can lower the families out of pocket costs on the financial side?

Colleges have seats to fill and are competing for good students. Many private schools offer scholarships to good students regardless of the family income.

SAT & ACT scores increase your chances of being accepted at your school of choice and offer more possibilities of Merit Aid. For an affordable and highly beneficial online resource, click here for a demo of www.eprep.com.

Colleges are looking for students who have challenged themselves academically while in High School. Is your student working to his or her potential?

Colleges are also looking for students who have interests outside the classroom. What does your student do when not at school?

In today’s economy, students can no longer afford to spend time in college “finding themselves.”

College is too expensive and too competitive. Our students go through a step by step process and proven system so that they will be successful during college and beyond.

We start with a comprehensive evaluation of your student. We work with our students to determine what their interests are – what careers they may be interested in, what major they need to get to that career, what college offers that major –We have them explore the job opportunities they can expect given their major – what is the outlook for that career. …we want our students to complete college in 4 years and have a viable career path after they graduate.

We guide them through the entire application and admission process. We help with college selection, essay support and interview tips. Our students create tracking calendars so that no important deadlines are missed.

Financial planning for the college years is different than any other type of financial planning.

The parent’s dilemma is how to pay for college with out sacrificing their upcoming retirement.

We start with analyzing your current financial situation. We create an individualized plan for each family which may include some or all of the following:

  • Cash flow enhancement
  • Tax savings
  • Debt reduction & Debt consolidation
  • Positioning Income & Assets during the college years
  • Determining your Student’s “Tax Capacity”
  • Student loan evaluation and counseling

Once the plan is developed, we will coach you through the implementation of the plan.

WE DO NOT SELL FINANCIAL PRODUCTS!

There are two types of Financial Aid – Need Based Aid and Merit Based Aid. Do you know the difference?

Need Based Aid is based on the Family Income and Assets.  Merit awards are based solely on the merit of the student rather than the financial need of the family!

We will create your own personal EFC analysis (expected family contribution).  Proper planning now can save you money in the future.  Do you know how much you would pay if your student were in college now?

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is THE important financial aid form. Some universities may also require the CSS Profile form.  We will review and instruct you on how to properly fill out these forms to receive the best possible financial aid package.

And finally we will review the Financial Aid offers to determine which school is offering the best financial package for your family.

Did you know that there are over 430,000 Student Athletes competing in 23 sports at over 1000 participating colleges and universities?

Clear Light College Success is proud to offer CLCS Go-Team!, our new tool to help Student Athletes and their parents monitor and manage the student athlete college recruiting process. CLCS Go-Team! is a Self Guided resource which combines long term career planning with an organized method for handling the college athletic recruiting process for High School students.

What is unique about our system is that we focus on the STUDENT in “Student Athlete.”
Less than 10% of college athletes will get a full ride scholarship. — There is scholarship money for college athletes but not every student athlete will be playing Division I or II. Therefore, High School athletes must start the recruiting process with the idea that:

The Student is going to college to get an education.

Scholarships for Athletes are available but students must find the athletic programs that fit their athletic profile.

The family needs to plan ahead to find ways to pay the balance of college expenses.

The Students’ emphasis going into college should be on the education they will receive which will enable them to have a meaningful, productive career upon graduation.

You will start with a web based interactive career exploration and education planning system for students. It is fun, easy to navigate and provides an organized system to help the student plan for their future.

  • Self Assessment – Students begin by assessing their interests, values, skills and
personality through a series of reliable and valid self assessment instruments.
  • Career Exploration — Students research occupations that match their self assessments through a database of over 1200 careers.
  • College Search — Students can then research 2 and 4 year colleges and universities which offer the majors needed to obtain their career. The database includes information about tuition, location, athletics and activities, enrollment details and majors.

Your student will research possible majors, careers and colleges that offer those majors. Using the college database in our CLCS Go-Team! Program, the student can begin to match college academics to college athletics.

Using the Student Athlete Recruiting Guide you will learn:

  • The 6 steps to Marketing the Student Athlete
  • The Importance of Academics
  • Understanding the Financial Aid System
  • Important Follow-Up Procedures including Registering with the NCAA Eligibility Center
  • Questions to ask when visiting the college campus.
  • Basic rules of the NCAA & NAIA Governing Bodies
  • How to write the Student-Athlete Cover Letter and Resume
  • How to keep track of communications with the various universities.

Pricing for CLCS Go-Team! Program is $197.

This fee includes the online Career & College resource and the online Marketing Student Athletes To Receive College Scholarships system along with downloadable Templates for Cover Letter, Student Resume, Update Report and Tracking System.
